Spyrock Winter Milky Rainbow

from 90.00

While the Milky Way is generally captured during the summer (in the northern hemisphere) when the galactic core is above the horizon, this wintertime image is there to prove that it's beautiful any time of year. The Milky Way was visible in all its splendor when I shot this image on a moonless and cloudless night in the hills of Northern California. Also visible is the comet C/2014 Q2 Lovejoy, making a blue trail under the arch of our galaxy. This image has a cumulative exposure time of over 10 minutes, although it took slightly longer to capture. Being a 360* panorama, I had the creative liberty to make multiple different projections of this image.
