A beautiful vernal pool, surrounded with big, delicious huckleberries. I had spotted what looked like a small lake with an island on satellite imagery, and knew that I had to check it out. Upon arrival, many miles on trail, and a mile or so off-trail, this is the scene I was greeted by. The timing could not have been better. After capturing this, and several other images, I proceeded to scout for a night time shot, while eating as many huckleberries as I could. This picturesque scene is found deep in the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness in Oregon.
