Running on near zero sleep after a week in New York, we checked into a hostel in Rekyavik. I set my alarm for 4am to check the aurora forcast. It looked promising, so I dragged my wife out of bed and we hit the road. Unable to drive while distracted by the ghostly whisps of the northern lights, we pulled our rented Fiat Panda over on a deserted stretch of road west of Reykjavík. The in car thermometer read -12C! Fighting to retain control over numb fingers, I shot this 360° panorama and then jumped back in the car and cranked the heater.
