A malevolent creature watches over the badlands. Captured in the Bisti/De-Na-Zin wilderness in New Mexico. When I took this image the tempurature was well below freezing and this location is several miles into the wilderness, with no trails. Hiking through the badlands in the pitch black is not an experience I will soon forget.
