While it probably wasn't the safest place to be the view was excellent! This was taken on a day trip from Salzburg Austria into Berchtesgaden. You have to take a boat to get to the trailhead, and the ice had only just melted enough to get that far. Most of the hike was fine, but towards the end it was on snow and ice. By the time I reached the point where this photo was taken I was sinking up to my waist. I hadn't planned on a snow hike, so was just wearing light boots and regular pants...
