Having pursued a failed idea for sunrise, I was out in the hills early. I decided to keep driving and see what I could find. Decending into the valley, I found it full of fog and just starting to thin enough to be pierced by the first rays as they crept over the mountain. This luminous morning was captured in the inland hills of Humboldt County in Northern California.
